The Mysteries of Gads Hill Place - Game

The Mysteries of Gads Hill Place is a branching narrative game prototype, based on the life and death of Charles Dickens. The player visits Gads Hill Place a few days after the writer's death, with the intention to find the unfinished manuscript for 'The mystery of Edwin Drood'. The player gets sucked into a world of the occult, becoming closely acquainted with buried secrets and snapshots from Dickens's life, all while uncovering secrets about his own.

The game prototype was developed alongside Dickens Letters Limited, with access to never-before-seen letters that Dickens actually wrote.

I wrote and directed the game prototype, working closely with leading researcher, Leon Litvack to ensure the branching narrative adhered closely to real world events and speculations.
